Dirty Eyed Girls

It's the second week of school!
the first week seemed like forever already. :c
I don't think that I like high school much. :I

yesterday's Spanish class was horrible.
the whole classroom smelled like poop.
because someone's backpack had spoiled milk inside. super disgusting.
I couldn't breathe. :x
and I felt so nauseous.
the teacher wouldn't let us go outside to let us have some fresh air either.
she only turned on the AC to let the horrid smell "circulate" the room.

So I got my locker today. for PE.
mine is all the way in the back--away from my friends' lockers. D:
i'm so lonely back there.
I have to change with sophomores, juniors, and seniors. ho hum.

but I am happy that my locker is nice and clean on the inside.
not like the other lockers--all rusty and ew.
the showers are gross, too.
I don't think I'd want to step in there bare-footed.

anywho, I DID mention that 2pm's my no.1 now, right?
yeah, so I'm learning their Again & Again dance right now.
and I got down most of it.
still need to work on it, though! c:

OMG IT'S DAISO

Yesterday, my sister took Connie and I to the mall!
we went to the new purikura place
and it was fuun. c: I liked how our purikuras turned out!

I saw some flats that I liked at Waltz.
a pair of yellow ones and a pair of purple ones. :I
they were $20 for each.
but then Waltz had that buy one get the other one half off sale.
I still didn't have enough money anyways. haha.

we went to Daiso, too.
since when was Daiso at the Great Mall?
when we saw it, we were like OMG IT'S DAISO.
now we don't have to drive all the way to Cupertino or Eastridge to go to Daiso!
so we spent a long time there. my sister and I got a lot of stuff. :I
I got a bento box (a back-to-school item), chopsticks, a cake cellphone charm, and a cute sponge.
$1.50 for each!

afterwards, we went to Walmart.
because my sister had to return something.
I got an ice cream cone at the McDonald's inside Walmart.
mmm, vanilla ice cream. :9
but I think IKEA's frozen yogurt is better.

Freshman Orientation

Today was my freshman orientation!
I took my ID picture. and I don't like it much. :I
& I got my schedule, too!
I'm quite satisfied with it. c: I got into all the classes I wanted.
oh yeah, I also brought home my books.
freshmen this year don't have lockers because the juniors had to go and bomb them. :c
darn them. now I'll have to carry my books to and from school everyday.
most likely everyday.

I liked my link crew leaders!
they were really nice. c:
but they made us play a lot of ice breakers.
I don't like ice breakers.

my link crew leaders said that we'll have to do a swimming unit this year. :c
oh boy, what a bummer
I'm not going to like it. at all.

Anyways, hopefully I'll find my way around school next week!

Petroglyph

Last friday my sister took me and two of our friends to Petroglyph.
it was so fun! & I want to go againn! c:
so what you do there is basically paint your own ceramic thing.
you can paint whatever you want
they have cups, bowls, plates, etc.

oh yeah, you have to pay a day pass
which is about $10 for an adult
and you have to pay for whatever else you paint.

I picked a mug.
and I painted it sunset/salmon color.
(I don't even know which color I used anymore)
I wrote my name on it with puffy paint, too.
& painted a flower.
I don't think my handle turned out really well, though.
it seems like I didn't paint it enough. :I
oh well. I painted a key on my handle and made dots with puffy paint.
on the bottom, I painted a heart and wrote the date.
I like the bottom the best. x)
After you paint it, they glaze it for you and everything.
I guess I'm pretty satisfied with my mug.

So I was 2pm-ing the whole afternoon yesterday.
yes, that's how much I love them now. haha.

because they're so dorky and I love their I Hate You song.

I want to learn the dance!



At first, I didn't like 2pm that much because of their 10 out of 10 MV.
the first time I watched it was on television.
and I was like ew.
but now, they've changed.

Shake that Soda

I just remembered this kind of soda that I drank in Taiwan.
and it's super cool. ;)
I googled it up and I can't believe I actually found it.

There's two kinds: the Japanese kind and the Taiwanese kind.
I drank the Taiwanese kind.
but I saw the commercials for both of them.

Anywhoo, it's just like any other soda.
but you have to shake it before you drink it.
10 times for the Japanese kind and 12 times for the Taiwanese kind.
you have to shake it or else it won't get all fizzy.

there's tiny pieces of jell-o floating inside, too. yum. c:

I like skirts, but I don't wear them.
only if I really, really have to.
why? I really do not know.
perhaps, it is because I don't like the way skirts look on me. showing my ever-so-skinny legs.
maybe, in the near future, I will start liking to wear skirts.
but for now, my skinny jeans are just fine.

oh yes, yesterday, I went to Daiso with my best friend Connie.
but I didn't buy anything because I couldn't find that one pencil case I liked that I saw at the Daiso in Taiwan.
the cloth was white and it had tiny dark purple hearts on it. c:
I really wanted it.
ho hum, maybe I will find it next time.

and yesterday I drank root beer floats and ate red velvet cupcakes, yum.

Straw Hats

I woke up at 6-ish this morning.
I couldn't fall asleep is why.
Because of jetlag, I suppose. but I kind of like the feeling of waking up early in the morning.
when it's still dark out and you're the only one in the house that's awake.
it's a strange feeling. :I

I finished reading The Bean Trees! I liked it. c:
I still have to do the double journal entry assignment for it, though. :c
and then I will start reading The Good Earth.
I think that I won't like it as much as The Bean Trees.

I went to Valleyfair and Santana Row today!
I haven't been there in a long time!
so me and my sister went to go buy a birthday present for a friend.
it was so hard! we couldn't decide on anything. :I
we went to American Eagle 4 times,
J. Crew 3 times,
Banana Republic once,
Zumiez once,
Kenneth Cole once,
Urban Outfitters once,
and H&M once (just to find that there was no guys' section there)

so we ended up buying a straw hat from AE and 2 V-necks from Urban Outfitters for our friend.
it was a 2 V-necks for $24 sale. I guess that was okay. red and yellow.
but after we got home, my sister realized that one of the V of the V-necks was down too low.
so she's going to return it tomorrow.

oh yeah, we got a straw hat for ourselves, too.

I've been wanting one. and finally got one for only $10! :I
they remind me of Jason Mraz.

at J. Crew I saw this pretty headband.
It was beige and thin. there was a pretty rose on the side.
I wanted to get it, but it was $20! :c
and then there was this nice bobby pin with the same rose on it.

I saw this cute camera necklace.

Ketchup and Mustard on my Hot Dog

Hayhayhay.
In Taiwan I saw this brand called Aguis B.
I saw the store but didnt go in. because my aunt was in a hurry.
I would've wanted to take a look around the store, though.
I suppose that its products are expensive. my cousin bought this tiny coin pouch for NT$4000.
That is wow.
From what I hear from my aunt, a lot of young adults in Taiwan like Aguis B.

anyways, I ate hot dogs today.
I think I've been craving it since yesterday, when I started reading The Bean Trees.
we almost ran out of ketchup, though.
there was only a little bit left. I had to scoop it out.
mustard and ketchup on my hot dog. yum.

my sister baked red velvet cupcakes today.
they look very flat on the top. and not risen up like theyre supposed to :c
but theyre rather tasty. very fragile too.
I think my sister's going to try again. and make the tops rise up.
then again, I guess you could just cover it up with whipped cream. c:

it's a rather pretty song. :I
I heard it playing quite a lot in Taiwan.
a bunch of times on the radio, and in stores, too. I also saw the MV on television.
So I guess it's a pretty popular song.

Daiso

I want to go to Daiso.
because it has all kinds of things for very cheap. :I
just the kind of store that I like.

I went to a Daiso in Taiwan.
and it was bigger than the one I went to in Cupertino.
there was this huge makeup corner, too.

I saw some pen cases that I rather liked. C:
but I didnt buy any because I forgot to bring my money.
there were these cute gift bags, too.
and monster doll keychains! :I

My aunt bought this popsicle-maker thing at Daiso.
my mom used to use that to make popsicles for us when I was younger, too!
they were fun to make.
but super hard to pull out.

Back Home

I'm back from Taiwan! C: Yeeee!
But I got summer reading to do. D: The Bean Trees and The Good Earth. I just bought the books today at Barnes and Nobles. I like the smell of bookstores. :I

Taiwan was fuuun. and hot.
I got a haircut, too. but I don't like it much. ): well, the back's okay. it's just my bangs. the barber gave me mega short straight bangs. I didnt even tell her to give me straight bangs!
I had no idea what she was thinking. and then I got super mad at her. but that was 'bout 2 weeks ago. so my bangs grew out. kind of. it's a little bit above my eyebrows. at first it was an inch above my eyebrows. Dx I shouldnt have paid that barber.

It's so good to be back. Even though I enjoyed Taiwan. but I missed everyone. :I my aunt took me shopping. a lot. mostly clothes-shopping for my sister and I. so I brought back a ton of clothes. ahhh I'm going to miss the night markets. D: cheapest stuff there. the sales are like: 3 shirts for NT$400 or a pair of shoes for NT$95 (and they had all kinds of shoes in various sizes) that's heckaaa cheap! 8)

I tried gaining weight in Taiwan. since Taiwan food's so good. but it didnt work. I did eat a lot though! when my aunt's friend saw me, she told my aunt "she's so skinny! give her some beef! does she eat?" I was like "hay! I do eat."

anyways, I should finish unpacking. :I

Today is Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! I think that it's so cool that Chinese people celebrate Father's Day on August the eighth because August the eighth is ba ba. Get it? haha.
And I gave my dad the card I made for him. C:
I finished packing for Taiwan, too. I leave tomorrow tomorrow! but I don't really want to go this year. I kind of just want to stay here this summer. I will miss everyone terribly! D: I hate getting homesick.

Anywho, today my dad and I went to buy two of my aunt gifts. we went to TJMax, Loehmann's and the mall. we went to a lot of stores in the mall: Burlington Coat Factory, Off Fifth Saks Avenue, Marshalls, and Calvin Klein.

We finally saw just what we were looking for at Calvin Klein. it took us quite a while to pick out the best bag, though. in the end, we paid for a black Calvin Klein bag. the design on the bag suits my aunt. I'm pretty sure that my aunt will like it. :I

For my other aunt, we found her a Coach bag from Loehmann's. I guess it looked alright. It's just that I preferred the other Coach bag. I thought that it'd look better on her. but oh well, the one we got was pretty, too. C:

VBS starts tomorrow! I hope it goes well. we worked so hard to prepare the decorations! I got the 2-3 graders! ahh, I wish that I could stay for the whole thing! I can only help out for 2 days. D: I'm sorry Connie!

A Card for Papa

Today was gloomy, a bit.
A lot of decorating for vbs done, though.
What I did:
1. Paint warning signs
2. Paint grass
3. Paint a shack
4. Cut out foil bugs
5. Hang up leaves
6. Fix up a tree
Besides that, I also learned the hand motions to the vbs songs, part of the Gee dance....and played wallball. oh yeah, plus I made 2 beautiful mini posters of Kim Hyun Joong/Rain. we cut out the pitcures from the entertainment section of the newspaper. 2 of my friends helped me..and they turned out brilliant! helped me improve my korean. haha.

The vbs songs gave me good leg workout today. maybe a tad too much. x) but it was fun! C: even though this year's songs werent as good as last year's.

After vbs songs, we had an interesting little tea party. interesting, indeed.

Oh, yes. yesterday, we went to one of our youth counselor's house. we had a yummy BBQ! & we played Apples to Apples! my favorite game of all time! C: after worship and the message came the best part...KARAOKE! aaahh, I love karaoke! but I didnt get to sing what I wanted to sing (Zen Me Ban--S.H.E.) because we ran out of time. D: I wish I had a karaoke machine.

Tomorrow is Father's Day and I'm making a card for my papa. :I

Up

Haha,
Today was the eighth grade breakfast. and it wasn't that good. we only had donuts and bagels and fruits. the only drinks were from our own school--milk, chocolate milk, and orange juice. the bagels were nasty. the fruits were my favorite. strawberrys, cantelope, kiwi, peach, and grapes. compared to last year, this year's breakfast really sucked.

Last year, they had pancakes and waffles and real breakfast food. how come they gave us such bad food this year? and last year's eighth graders went to Great America for their outing while we had to go to Saratoga Springs.

Anywho, we stayed at school 'til 10:00am. and then we're officially freshmen/women! everyone cried today. D: it made me feel so sad. i'm going to miss everybody! especially those going to different high schools! D:

Everyone said their last farewells at 10:00. D: afterwards, me, Amy, and Brenda went to the movies to watch Up. when we were still at school, we realized that two other big groups were going, too. including Pearl! so we decided to be smart and get our tickets before they get sold out. we rushed to the theaters and were the first to get our tickets! haha. oh yeah, we got really cool 3D glasses, too. they're actually the framed ones! C:

I had to ask for another pair of 3D glasses because I lost mines. I had no idea when and where I lost them. but when we went in to watch the movie, I realized that they weren't in my pocket. so I had to go and ask for another pair. the guy was nice enough to give me another pair! yay!

Up was a really good movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. it was pretty funny! Russell is such a cute little boy! and Mr. Frederickson is a dandy 'ol man.

Eighth Grade Promotion

I graduated yesterday! C: I arrived there about 20 minutes early, though. and then it took me forever to find the rest of Sierramont Class of 09 because Piedmont Middle people were there too. so we got all mixed up and conjumbled.

I finally found everybody else. so we lined up at the back of Parkside Hall for approximately half an hour. everyone was so anxious. finally, finally at 3:00, Sierramont Class of 09 entered Parkside Hall.

With two days straight of practice, we graduates looked like professionals. we stood up and sat down at precisely the same time. and also did what we were supposed to do at every cue. the graduation ceremony took a little more than an hour.

It took me such a long time to find my parents. D: I eventually found my dad. and it turned out that my mom left early with my sister because she said that there was way too many people. so I took a lot of pictures with my friends. it was a once in a lifetime moment.

Mushroom Boy

Hmmm,
So today we spent the first three periods sitting and standing for graduation practice. it got so annoying. we walked in and out of the gym a million times, I think. and stood up and sat down a bajillion times. D:

But I got a valedictorian badge and award. C:
and so did 23 other people. :) I got a bit upset because my counselor read my name as "Helen Dang". and then my counselor yelled at me for taking so long to get up onto the stage because I wasn't sure if it was me that he called. stupid old english font. D:

So I told my P.E. teacher what happened.
(or rather my friends did) and he made me go and tell my counselor that he read my name wrong. I think that he wanted me to learn how to stand up for myself, which I knew how to do already. I told him that it wasnt necessary, but he insisted. D: and what could I do? so he walked me to my counselor's office and made me tell him. my friends went with me, too. so this whole group of people just stood outside of my counselor's office watching me tell him that he said my name wrong. it was a bit awkward.

Anywhoo, I got Taemin in my autograph pages now.
my friend just had to put a picture of him in there. I told her that she could keep it but she was so generous that she gave it to me. she hates mushroom boy, btw. she gave me a picture of Key, though! thank you!

Cinnamon is Too Sweet

This is the last week of school! :O oh boy, time goes by real fast! I finally got my autograph pages! I hope that I can get everyone to sign it before school's out!

I got my gown today, too. I haven't tried it on yet. I hope it looks okay on me. I got the 5'-5'2'' one, so it better be long enough. C:

My hand smells really nice today. C: it smells like raspberries because my friend wrote on it with a raspberry scented marker. I can't stop smelling my hand! I was smelling my hand every five minutes at school today. C:

My friend had other scented markers. there was green apple, cinnamon, cherry, orange, vanilla, etc. but the raspberry one was my favorite! green apple was good, too. but I didn't like the cinnamon one. for some reason, I just don't like cinnamon-scented things. I think that it's "too sweet" for my nose. haha.

Yesterday, I re-watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. that made me really happy because I love Lord of the Rings! oh yeah and I really want to watch Up! I need to find a day to go to the theaters. C: I can't wait 'til Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes out in July!

Mardi Gras/Masquerade Dance

Today, we got our yearbooks! well, I didnt get one because I didnt buy one. :O I should have bought one though, now that I've seen it. but it's $40, which is too expensive. D: I shouldnt have bought one last year, huh? ergh. but then last year I was in yearbook class and I wanted to keep my work, so I bought one.

The autograph pages are $2 this year! the price went up by one dollar! :O I think last year, since I was in yearbook, I got one for free. but $2 for one is really expensive, too!

The Mardi Gras/Masquerade Dance is today! i'm not going, though. C: I changed my mind and that made my friends rather mad. at first, I wasnt going because I was sick. but now that I'm quite better, I'm still not going. for some reason, I just don't want to go anymore. I didnt want to go in the first place, anyways.

I'm going to have a potluck tomorrow! yum.

Saratoga Springs

Yesterday I went on my eighth grade outing to Saratoga Springs.

& it was not as fun as I expected. D: as a matter of fact, it was really boring. I went on the jumphouse and that was it. nothing else seemed fun. ): some people brought their badminton rackets and played badminton. I thought about bringing mine too, but I didnt. I should've brought mine. then maybe I wouldnt have been so bored. I ate ice cream though, and that was yummy. C:

on the way there, I saw lots and lots of cute little houses and shops. C: but then later, we had to drive up a mountain and that got me a bit sick in the stomach. :O the road was very wind-y, indeed. I fell asleep on the bus on the way back to school.

today, my math teacher did something wonderful! she gave me an A- for this trimester's grade even though I think I was supposed to get a B+. C: thank you Mrs. Burket!

I am Sick

Today I didnt go to school because I got sick D: I slept most of yesterday and went to the doctor's this morning. the doctor said that I got the flu, but nothing major, thank goodness. C: he said that after a little rest, i'll be fine.

anhywhoo, yesterday I went to my friend Connie's eighth grade graduation. (not the same Connie from my previous post). I was glad that I could go! too bad she won't be going to the same high school as me. D:

Squirrels and Ducks and Spiders

Well, today was quite fun, indeed. I took my Chinese finals first thing in the morning and it was pretty easy because my teacher already told us what was going to be on the test. ;D I really like my Chinese school teacher this year--she's super nice! anyways, after the test, it was all fun and games. stupid Purple Box kept on stealing our answers.

then at precisely 11:30pm came what my friend Connie and I dreaded--Calligraphy Culture Class. on the way to culture class, we stopped by a class's potluck and stole some food. x) while we were sitting in the shade and eating our food, we decided to ditch culture class again and go feed the ducks at the park with Connie's bread. when we got there, we saw squirrels so we fed them first. they slowly crept toward us, knowing that we had food and that got us real scared. I was hoping to see little ducklings, but we only saw four grown ducks. D: we fed them anyways. :) we eventually ran out of bread and had to head back to school.

while we were sitting on the ground and waiting for our parents to come pick us up, we saw this spider. it was a daddy-long-leg. thank goodness it wasnt one of those hairy ones. I really dislike spiders x( Connie shooed it away with my folder. C:

Yesstyle

This is the hoodie that I wanted to order from yesstyle! it's really cute! it says "Come Back my Lover" on the front. C: well, I didn't order yet because my mom's too busy. ergh. it was supposed to arrive yesterday D: but now I'll have to wait longer.

And here's the tulle skirt that I wanted to order! it's so pretty! it was out of stock--but I see that it has come back C: this was supposed to arrive yesterday along with my sweater. I hope my mom orders soon because this skirt is low in stock! D:

Outing & Dance

Today, was sort of a bore. my arms still hurt from carrying 5 fat textbooks all the way to homeroom this morning. D: I think I might've grown some muscles. then, I took a science test, which I didn't study for. but it was super easy C: and I have a math test tomorrow, oh boy. wish me luck on it! I have to get an A on this test because I'm on the verge of an A-.

I can't wait 'til this week is over. next week will be full of fun! or at least for us eighth graders 8D let's see, the eighth grade outing and dance are next week. and yes, I have decided to attend the eighth grade dance--since everyone is going. so I might as well just go. and then the week after that, we're graduating! I don't know how I feel about graduating. I guess both sad and happy. I'll be missing some of my friends who will be going to different schools. D:

Boba!

Yesterday, I had Pearl Milk Tea! 'Cept without the Pearls, or frog eyes. when I was still a little girl, I used to believe that they really were frog eyes. but I ate them anyways, because they were so good. anyways, yesterday I went with my Epicenter buddies to Verde. (it was my first time going there.) we went for the buy one get one free deal. the milk tea was sweeter than Fantasia's, but it was still yummy! C:

Anywho, I also went to Hilltop, which was right across from Verde. I saw a huge ninja Tofu, which I really wanted! but it was much too expensive for me--$24. D: I also saw cute cups, notebooks, bento boxes, and a cake phone charm that I wanted , too!

Only three more weeks 'til my eighth grade graduation! I was getting worried because I didn't have a dress yet...until my friend gave me a skirt to borrow today! Yay! It would've probably taken me forever to find a dress that could fit me due to my super-skinniness. My friend actually lent me a halter dress as well, but it was too big for me. D: so i decided upon the skirt....even though the dress was really pretty. It's black and white from Forever 21 and the skirt is white from Hollister. I'm planning on wearing a cardigan and gold (maybe black) flats to go with it. :)

Hello there! I'm starting this blog to pour out my thoughts and...yea. x)
Anyways, yesterday I moved into my new house. It's not far from where I used to live or from my school. but it's bigger than my old house :) I was busy unpacking today and got so tired I fell asleep on the couch. teehee. ohh, I like the kitchen the best ;) It's really big. There's a lot of room to cook and everything. :D And I don't share a room with my brother anymore. I share one with my sister now and I quite like it. I love the shade of yellow we chose for our bedroom wall. <3
It makes the room look so warm!
